Our “Final Four” Best Ways To Get Entrepreneur or Author Publicity

Our “Final Four” Best Ways To Get Entrepreneur or Author Publicity

As March Madness takes center stage in the sports world, we’re putting our own spin on brackets and competition. Here is our own “final four” — the four best way to get yourself booked for your next podcast, television show, or reporter interview.

  1. Stay ready! Usually when journalists need a source, they need one fast. If a reporter or producer reaches out for you to be on their podcast, TV show, or in their article, try to make yourself available. Even if it’s inconvenient for you. The inconvenience will pay off once you prove yourself as a guest contributor. You’ll start to see more requests coming in, and your opportunities for publicity will grow.
  2. Follow the media that you want to be in. Watch the shows you want to be on. Listen to the podcasts you want to be interviewed by. This is how you’ll find opportunities. If you find yourself listening to a podcast or reading an article and thinking that you have something to add to the conversation, this is prime time to pitch yourself to the producers or bookers. Send them your unique opinion and why people should listen to it. If you need help crafting your pitch, check out these tips.
  3. Be positive and persistent. You might hear “no” a few times. That’s okay. Stay positive. Keep reaching out. Journalists are usually juggling multiple assignments at once. You never know when they might need you.
  4. Share your success with your network. When you share your interview on social media, there are so many benefits. First of all – people who didn’t see or read your interview right away have the chance to catch up. Plus, it provides content for your social media feed. What’s more — the author, podcaster or publisher loves that you’re sharing it (and hopefully tagging them to provide more exposure!). Creating more clicks or downloads for the journalist who interviewed you can entice them to call you again in the future.

There you have it — our own version of the Final Four. Which tip is your ultimate champion? Interested in help gaining earned media? Schedule a free discovery call with us to discuss how we can help achieve your top PR goals!
