Laura Marquis

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Laura Marquis came to Guide My Brand looking to develop a marketing plan leading up to the release of her first book, a cookbook featuring desserts that are dairy-free, sugar-free and gluten-free. Our charge was to assist with positioning her as an expert on sugar addiction and to schedule book signings and media opportunities around the release of her book.

OUR ROLE
When we began working with Laura, the first thing she told us was that she wanted to have a book signing at Williams-Sonoma. So, we immediately set to work on getting that scheduled and managed to land her a multi-hour demonstration in the test kitchen of a Williams-Sonoma store where she’ll be mic’d up for the whole store to hear, in addition to being able to sign copies of her book.
We’ve also been able to secure several opportunities for workshops and cooking classes where Laura can demonstrate her recipes and sell her book, including opportunities in her current home state of California and also in Vermont, where she was born and raised. In addition, we pitched her to multiple blogs that will feature her recipes, such as VegKitchen and The Vegan Society.
Another desire of Laura’s was to host cooking segments on television. Within one month of our work beginning together, we landed Laura her first television segment on San Diego Living, and they quickly invited her back for a second segment just weeks later. The following month, we landed her two television segments on WCAX News in her home state of Vermont.
We continue to work with Laura, securing more opportunities to promote the release of her book and continue building her as an expert on healthy desserts.
When I started with Kristi a little over three months ago, I was one month away from my big book launch. I was nervous that I simply couldn’t do it all my own and lacked the connections I needed to really stand out from my colleagues. She assured me that she could guide me and lead me in the right direction.
Since working with her, she has booked me 3 different workshops (one being at Williams-Sonoma) and she booked me 4 different tv appearance, not to mention is currently setting everything up to get my recipes published into a massive national magazine for early next year.”[/vc_willow_quote][/vc_willow_quotes_carousel]
