The #1 Mistake people make when giving podcast interviews

Being interviewed on podcasts is one of the best ways to grow your list and generate new leads.
But there’s one mistake that I see people make over and over when they first start doing podcast interviews that leaves them frustrated and not seeing the results they wanted.
Here’s what often happens:
They get excited when the interview is live, they share it on social media, and maybe even send it along to their newsletter.
But then they never do another thing with that podcast interview.
And the problem is… You’re wasting all the time you spent recording and prepping for that interview if you’re only sharing it the day it comes out.
You want to share the podcast on social media and send it to your email list. But then you also want to turn the podcast into a blog post on your website and drive SEO. You also want to put the links and show notes into a rotating content library to be shared again and again in the future.
In other words, try to get as much mileage as you can out of that one podcast. If you have a really good one, maybe even consider putting it somewhere in your email sequence. That way, when someone new firsts sign up for your list, they move through an indoctrination series to learn more about you and your services.
I’d love to know: How else do YOU get the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to podcasts?
Do you share it once… or do you put podcast interviews into a content repurposing schedule?
