What To Do After You Get Featured On TV or a Podcast

Man and woman on set for a TV interview, focus on foreground

You got featured on TV, a podcast or in an article. Congratulations! It’s a great feeling. Features, bylines and quotes add legitimacy to your brand, help grow your audience and can lead to more opportunities.

But don’t skip this one important step: Share the feature on your social media channels — and don’t forget to tag the journalist. More importantly: Don’t forget to thank them.

What does this do? At least three things:

  1. It grows your relationship with the writer, host or journalist. It shows that you’re proud to be working with them, and that can go a long way. It may even earn you another interview with them in the future.
  2. It helps both you and the journalist to get more views, clicks or downloads. Bonus points if they reshare the thank you they’ve posted.
  3. It helps you get more mileage out of each media appearance. There’s no limit on how many times you can reshare one of your TV, podcast or article features. It’s an easy way to keep the publicity going and continue to expand your audience.

Plus, our parents always taught us to say “thank you,” right?
